Prairie Farms Woolery is a family farm located in Southeast Iowa. They specialize in conservation breed sheep, including Shetland, Finn, and Gottland. Each sheep is lovingly cared for at their beautiful farm. The sheep are sheared once or twice a year, depending on the breed, and the wool is hand sorted and sent over the river to Illinois for spinning. This wool is a labor of love, and we truely love to knit and crochet with these fibers.
Wool grown in Iowa and spun in Illinois. About as local as it gets!
This skein of yarn is made from Finsla, a Shetland sheep.
