Handmade two-sided paper cuts feature the traditional "nisse," a Danish gnome, often associated with the winter solstice and Christmas.
In 1948, the Danish paper artist Edel Erstad started designing and producing paper cuts and mobiles. Her artist husband, the painter C.V. Stubbe-Teglbjaerg, joined her later. Through the years the company has created numerous designs with a romantic touch of Danish tradition.
