On Equality

We cannot stay silent. Racial inequality in America is unacceptable.

Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd are just a few among countless others who have been senselessly murdered in our country. This cannot continue.

The time to make a change in systemic racism is long overdue.

Let us come together as a community to promote racial equality and end police brutality. Systemic change begins at the local level.

As a community, let us pledge to:

  • Meet in our community to review policies regarding police action.
  • Contact Mayor Boyer and our city council members to request that Fairfield become a part of My Brother’s Keeper Alliance

                        https://www.obama.org/mbka/about-mbka

  • Donate to local and national organizations that promote racial equality and reduce police brutality.

At Home Store has chosen to make ongoing donations to:

      https://www.naacp.org

We pledge to increase diversity in staff and suppliers. We are working on including a larger selection of race related books on our bookshelf. We are donating all proceeds from the sale of all race related books to NAACP.  In addition, we will have an in-store lending library of books that promote racial equality.

We pledge to continue to become informed. Below are links that we have found helpful.
